  • One person dead in three car accident on Roseville Road

    Area of accident A man was announced deceased after he was involved in an accident involving three cars, according to Sacramento police spokesperson Justin Brown. The accident happened on Roseville Road Wednesday morning. The accident closed northbound and southbound lanes of Roseville Road near Connie Drive. Two people were transported to area hospitals according to Sacramento police with one pronounced deceased police tweeted out. The other person was listed in critical condition according to Brown.

    Officials said the accreditation follows compliance reviews by health care experts and is approved for 36 months. The hospital faced allegations of "patient dumping" after James F. Brown was put on a bus alone and sent on a 15-hour trip to Sacramento, Calif. Brown knew no one in the area and suffers from schizophrenia and depression. A Sacramento Bee investigation at the time showed Rawson Neal hospital had sent about 1,500 patients out of state in recent years.

    BUNNELL - A man convicted of rape in 1993 in California was arrested at a campground in Bunnell and indicted on a federal charge of failing to register as a sex offender, according to the U.S. District Attorney's Office in Jacksonville. Authorities said they arrested David Eric Crews, 54, of Sacramento, California, on Tuesday. Authorities said he traveled to Bunnell sometime between Dec. 2, 2014 and March 13 and failed to register as a sex offender as required by federal law under the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.

    Beginning next year, Sacramento residents will need to remember to bring reusable bags to the grocery store or pay at least 10 cents for paper bags, following a prohibition on single-use plastic bags approved by the Sacramento City Council on Tuesday night. According to a city of Sacramento staff report, the Sacramento ordinance will have no impact on local jobs.
