About: Canton, Georgia
Located in the foothills of Blue Ridge Mountain the area was originally controlled by the Cherokee Native Americans. The name was changed to Canton in 1834 after the Chinese city known by the same name. The area evolved into a prosperous mill town and was known for its denim production. Canton was Lost star Josh Holloway's childhood home even attending the local Cherokee High School. Today the area is home to the historic Canton Theatre, Heritage Park, and the Canton Marketplace.
