About: Carmichael, California
Carmichael is located in central California, just outside of Sacramento. The city was named after its founder, Daniel W. Carmichael. He bought approximately 3,000 acres of land that was once part of the Rancho San Juan Mexican land grant. One point of interest in Carmichael is the Jensen Botanical Gardens which maintain a wide range of plants such as camellias, dogwood trees, azaleas and rhododendrons. Another point of interest is the Chautauqua Playhouse. It is a 95-seat theater that shows comedies, drams, musicals and on Saturdays, kids shows.
