About: Castro Valley, California

Castro Valley is located in central California. The city was named in honor of Don Guillermo Castro, a rancher and a soldier in the Mexican army. Castro was given a land grant that consisted of 28,000 acres. Because he had a gambling habit, he ended up having to sell off portions of the land in order to pay off some of his gambling debts. The driver fled when the deputies tried to pull over the maroon 2001 Saturn for reckless driving.
