About: Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Cherry Hill is located in southwestern New Jersey, situated in the Delaware Valley coastal plan. The name of the city was taken from a nineteenth century farm of the same name. Citizens chose the name in a referendum in 1961, after being told that they could not name their town Delaware, as another town in New Jersey had already taken the name. Notable residents have included heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, producer Lawrence Bender (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Good Will Hunting), singer-songwriter Amos Lee, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, and actress Ali Larter (Heroes, Resident Evil: Extinction, Final Destination).

As if it weren't bad enough that the head of the outfit running many of New Jersey's red light cameras was indicted for paying off officials in Chicago, and the program here is dysfunctional -- remember when 17,000 tickets had to be thrown out? -- now we have this news: Two grass-roots researchers say the data the state will use to decide whether to kill the controversial program next year isn't even accurate. The state Department of Transportation and the camera companies have so far offered nothing to refute their criticisms.
