    Denver and south metro suburbs have taken a $34 million step toward water-sharing to wean the suburbs off dwindling underground aquifers. The South Metro Water Supply Authority and Denver Water announced Wednesday they bought a 20-mile pipeline - built for $44 million in 2004 by the East Cherry Creek Valley Water and Sanitation District - to carry excess Denver and Aurora water to 10 suburbs including Castle Rock, Centennial and Parker.
