About: Commerce City, Colorado
A northern suburb of the city of Denver, Commerce City is known for its Mile High Greyhound Park dog track and races. Some of the oldest sites in Commerce City are its cemeteries, the oldest being founded in 1876. Until the 1920's most of the area was focused on agriculture until the appearance of a refinery in the 1930's. The city officially became Commerce in 1962. Home to the Suncor Energy oil refinery the city can produce up to 90,000 barrels per day.
