About: Danville, Illinois

Founded in 1827 Danville was made up of eighty donated acres. The city was named for Dan Beckwith who donated twenty of those acres.     Flu shot clinics at the Vermilion County Health Department will start again Wednesday, now that more flu vaccine has arrived. The health department was forced to postpone some of its clinics earlier this month after it used up its vaccine supply and more vaccine on back-order hadn't yet arrived.

Barbara Dreher, director of the Danville Election Commission, said this morning that her office has already put some absentee ballots through the tabulator, an electronic machine that processes the paper ballots.
