About: Dunwoody, Georgia
Dunwoody is a city located in northern Georgia. The area was settled in the late 1830s. It was named for Major Charles Dunwody; however an extra "o" was added accidentally with the signing of a bank note. In 1881 the Roswell Railroad ran through the city on its way to the Chatahoochee River. In 1905, former President Theodore Roosevelt made a campaign stop in Dunwoody via the railway when on his way to nearby Roswell. The city has been home to notable residents such as Ryan Seacrest (American Idol host).
