Fayetteville was founded in 1823. It was named after Marquis De Lafayette, a French nobleman who aided General Washington during the Revolutionary War. The land is owned by the Oddo brothers Paul, Chuck and Warren, and they are asking to exchange the current R-30 zoning for an R-22 zoning, which would allow denser residential development.
