    Macatawa Bank Corp. announced third quarter profits of $2.8 million - an increase of 23 percent over last year's third quarter profit of $2.2 million - in an earnings report released after the stock market closed on Thursday, Oct. 23. Executives with the Holland-based bank holding company said the improvements came as a result of a $10.9 million growth in its loan portfolio, net loan recoveries of $330,000 and its lowest loan delinquency rate in more than 11 years. Macatawa also reduced its non-interest expenses by $973,000 and its non-interest income grew by $352,000 over the third quarter of 2013, bank officials said.

Ciara Siobhan Byers was arraigned Monday, Oct. 20 in Allegan County District Court on two counts of operating while intoxicated causing death and a count of operating while intoxicated or impaired causing serious injury.
