    Indiana State Police Trooper Eric Freeman responded shortly before 2 a.m. Friday to the report of a semi jack-knifed across the east bound lanes of I-70 and a female screaming for help at the 148 mile marker, just west of the Williamsburg Pike exit. Freeman arrived to find the semi jack-knifed in the roadway with approximately 700 feet of cable barrier stretched behind it in the roadway.

    Two adults safely evacuated a house fire just before 2 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Bacon Street. The fire was the first for the new probationary firefighters who graduated from recruit school on Oct. 16. Firefighters rescued two dogs - a Dachshund named Ingrid and a Poodle named Tony - from the blaze.
