    A pedestrian was seriously injured Monday night when she was struck by a car police say was being driven by an impaired driver. Claudia Reed, 56, of Hemlock Place in Middletown, suffered head trauma and injuries to her lower extremities after the collision, which happened on on Meriden Road near Peters Lane about 10:10 p.m. The driver of the car, a 2004 Grand Prix, was Jackie Cunningham, 59, of Evergreen Circle, state police said.
