The capital of Minnesota is St. Paul. The state produces more than three-fourths of the nationâ€™s iron ore. Minnesota also has a strong agricultural industry, producing huge yields of corn, wheat, rye, alfalfa, and sugar beets. It has been nicknamed the â€œLand of 10,000 Lakes,â€ as it has over ten thousand lakes. These lakes provide fishing, hunting, water sports and winter sports, which bring in millions of tourists each year. Famous residents and natives have included musician Bob Dylan, actress Judy Garland, and actress Jessica Lange.
