About: Windsor, Connecticut
The first English settlement in the state of Connecticut Windsor is located just north of Hartford. Before European settlers arrived the area was home to the Pequot and Mohegan Native American tribes. The first highway in the state was between Windsor and Hartford and opened in 1638. Windsor is the location of the home of Oliver Ellsworth, the third Chief Justice of the United States. Today the area is also home to two golf courses.
