The capital of Tennessee is Nashville. The state is seen as playing an integral role in the development of rock and roll and early blues music. In particular Memphis and Nashville are noted for their musical history and also the home of several musicians including Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Carl Perkins. It was also the home of former US presidents Andrew Jackson and Andrew Johnson. Tennessee is a leading tobacco producer and derives a large part of its economic income from farming products including dairy, greenhouse and nursery products, as well as soybeans and cotton. While agriculture remains important to the state, it is now predominately industrial and urban. It’s most important products are chemicals, textiles, apparel, electrical machinery, furniture, and leather goods.
